Staying Compliant with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
The European Union’s new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR (EU) 2025/40, has been fully applicable since 12 August 2026. It replaces the former Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive 94/62/EC and applies directly to all packaging placed on the EU market, regardless of material, design, or supply-chain role.
For our factory, this means every packaging component—inner bags, cartons, labels, tapes, foams, pallets, and shipping materials—must meet the current PPWR requirements.
What we have completed
We have reviewed all packaging materials used for EU orders and arranged the required testing. All packaging materials have been tested for restricted substances, including lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium, with a total limit of no more than 100 mg/kg. For food-contact packaging, PFAS screening has also been carried out in line with PPWR limits.
What we will continue to do
We will keep our technical documentation and Declarations of Conformity up to date, ensure clear packaging identification, and review recyclability, packaging minimization, labeling, and recycled-content requirements as later PPWR deadlines take effect.
Our goal is to ensure that every shipment to the EU remains compliant, traceable, and ready for customer and authority review.
